As we approach the last quarter of 2019 it is a good time to reflect upon the real estate market, both locally and nationally.
Let's start with the local Manawatu market as it has been throughout the year.
We have placed maximum marketing and minimum real effort into selling property this year. They are simply flying off the shelf so to speak, as it has been a sellers market and a particularly frustrating period for those clients wishing to purchase. When it comes to supply and demand we have suffered a lack of new property coming to the market and a constant supply of new buyers appearing. This has generally applied to the wider Manawatu areas as well.
Nationally it has been a mixed bag with the major slow down appearing in the Auckland scene. This also filtered down to an extend through Hamilton and Tauranga predominantly.
Wellington has remained reasonably positive while Christchurch has been a little flat for quite some time. Queenstown was very positive earlier in the year but there has also been a flattening out there also.
In most provincial centres the buoyant market has applied and has continued to strengthen throughout 2019.
